the sun is out!

ahhh! it's a beautiful day! the snow is melting with the sun shining brightly! here is a layout that was inspired by My Scraps & More #59:

I searched around in my stash and came up with 2 older papers from Daisy D's. Remember them?? The chevron arrows are hand stitched using the Amy Tangerine template and I stamped the brackets. The blue studded snowflake stickers are from Imaginisce for Archiver's. A simple page really! Thanks for stopping by! Blessings!

a snowflake frenzy of lights!

this next layout was inspired by a sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap:

here is what I came up with:

the bottom 1/3 of the page is misc. snowflakes from Queen & Co. to a hand stitched one to silver brads, lots of  clear rhinestones and such! The paper is American Crafts "Peppermint Factory" and the rest are misc. cardstock. Here are a few close-ups:

this layout also works for the 1-2-3 Get Scrappy challenge for this month:
I did lots of bling, the color blue and snowflakes!

this was fun! hope everyone is having a great week! blessing my scrappy friends!

a scrappy snow day!

so school is cancelled for today and tomorrow...my husband is at home too! me? I'm just scrapping away! I was inspired and created this next layout from a sketch I found at Stuck?!:

I turned the sketch on its side and changed up some of the elements to fit my own style:

I used My Mind's Eye for the page and some Heidi Swapp plus misc. cardstock for the layers. I really am enjoying popping up elements so the layout has texture and depth:

my go-to trend is still banners!! thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave some love! blessings!

2 more from weekend crop!

for a trip to the Science Center I opted to create a two page layout:

here are the two together:

I so enjoy lots of photos on one page! I have a few more pages to finish up from the crop and then I'll be back!

10" of snow today!

we have had a blizzard of snow today! 10" ! no school tomorrow that's for sure! so today I was able to finish a couple of layouts from a crop I went to this past Friday and Saturday...Friday we cropped from 5-12 p.m. and Saturday from 9-8 p.m.! I left at 4 on Saturday so I wouldn't miss the NFL playoff games! I do have priorities you know!
Here's a layout I created using an older sketch from Stuck?:
 and here's the layout:

the paper is from 3 bugs in a rug, Trendsetter from Fancy Pants and some misc. cardstock. The pics are of my guys acting goofy!
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! blessings!

join us over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles!

Welcome to 2014 & 3 Challenges!

Happy New Year!

Each day is an opportunity to receive God's mercies, which are new every morning(Lamentations 3:22-23), and surely each year we welcome, each January first is a blessing, indeed!

Do you participate in the tradition of making New Year's Resolutions?  What do you want to change about the way you live?  Many people who make resolutions want to stop doing something, or start doing something.  Do you have any resolutions about papercrafting?  Maybe you want to finish a layout each week in 2014, work on Christmas cards each month, or try to use what you already have in your stash!  We hope our monthly theme, layout, and card challenges will help you meet your goals while encouraging you to see the daily miracles all around you!

Let's celebrate the beginning of 2014 with some challenges for inspiration and motivation!

The Main Theme Challenge for January 1 is, "Friends Forever."
Friends are truly a gift from God, and they come into our lives in many ways!  That means there are lots of ways to interpret our theme, and we can't wait to see  what you create! Our Bible verse for inspiration this month comes from Proverbs 17:17, "A friend loves at all times...."

We also have a Layout Sketch Challenge, with a sketch from Ashley Horton Designs, and a Card Sketch Challenge with a sketch from Pagemaps!

Main Theme Challenge:  "Friends Forever"
You may create any type of papercrafted project that fits the theme of "Friends Forever," and you may use the Proverbs 17:17 Bible verse as well.  You may enter a layout, card, tag, wall hanging, canvas, gift packaging, etc.. - as long as it uses paper as one of it's materials!

Layout Sketch Challenge:
Our friend in papercrafting, and Sister in Christ,  Ashley Horton, of Ashley Horton Designs, let us borrow one of her amazing sketches this month!   I chose one of her sketches with multiple photos to give those of you who want to scrap lots of photos in 2014, a jump start!  (I'm in this category, being about 3 years behind on my youngest son's photos!)  We can't wait to visit your blog and view your layouts!  You may rotate, flip or exchange the elements on the sketch, but it must be recognizable.  You may use this month's theme, "Friends Forever," the Proverbs 17:17 Bible verse, or you may use your own theme.

Card Sketch Challenge:

Our card sketch this month comes from our friends at Page Maps!  We'd love for you to create a card based on this month's sketch and link it on the top right of the blog page!  You can rotate, flip or exchange elements, but we need to be able to recognize the sketch.  You may use this month's theme, "Friends Forever," the Proverbs 17:17 Bible verse, or you may come up with your own theme for your card!

awesome yes?!!!

it's a new year!!

Happy New Year my scrappy friends! I'm looking forward to this new year! I would like to try and work on at least 2 layouts a week and update this blog more. So here is a layout I did for my son's 15th birthday:
just a simple page with 2 photos, letter stickers and chipboard arrows I painted black. The paper is by Creative Imaginations. We went to a restaurant called Shogun which is a favorite for our family. I have one more page to finish for this birthday outing which I hope to post about tomorrow. I just need to add journaling which is one of my goals for this year. To journal and document more. Thanks for taking the time to stop by! Blessings!
