My Scraps & More # 32
I had bought this Bazzill paper a few months ago loving the colors and flowers not quite sure what I was going to do with it. Then yesterday I came across some pics from way back in 2008 of Liam and a friend and bingo! I knew what I was going to do with them! I love the sketches at My Scraps & More and followed # 32. Here is the sketch and what I created:
here is a close-up of the title:
all the paper is from Bazzill Basics Paper "Lucy's Crab Shack" and for the title I used the same paper and used an EK Success punch and Bella Blvd. letter stickers. I then popped it up with pop dots to add a little dimension. All in all, I had a blast with this layout and really love how it turned out! Off to create! Thanks for stopping by!!

Our sponsor this month is Citrus Twist.
Citrus Twist Kits grew out of one girl’s love of all things crafty, with just a little love of vintage thrown in. Here is the story: My mom and I shared a love of the art world. I grew up tagging along to Art in the Park shows, quilting fairs and more. Early in 2012 my mom passed away and as I was going through her lifetime of art and crafts supplies, the idea for Citrus Twist Kits was born. It was the vintage scraps that inspired the handcrafted item that goes into each main kit.
Citrus Twist Kits are color-based, inspired and great value for your money. A box arrives on your doorstep each month filled with scrapbooking gifts to keep you playing all month long.

I loved this sketch from Sketches In Thyme so much that I followed it again!:

found a new blog and friend!
here is a blog that you will want to check out: http://mybeaner.blogspot.com/2013/06/pay-it-forward-contest.html
technique Tuesday!
many blogs and sites I follow have Tuesdays designated as "Technique Tuesday" where a design team member showcases a new or tried & true technique as a tutorial. well, that's not what this is!! for those of you who do visit my blog every once in a while you have seen me say how much I miss playing with my sewing machine because of having to be in a wheelchair! so I have tried it once and for me it was a success! somewhat! I mean for having to put the pedal thingy between my feet on the wheelchair it was a huge confidence booster! so on with my story or rather the layout I tried working on today with my sewing machine....I do try to visit as many blogs as I can when I log on in the mornings and a few weeks back I visited this blog: http://jinnynewlin.blogspot.com/2013/05/scrapfriends-monthly-sketch-13-colour.html and wanted to try the chevron style this friend had going on! so here is what I created:
as you can see the lines are not as straight as I would like them...it's hard for me to control the speed of the needle sewing with my foot on the pedal. Part of the M.S. or rather a symptom of it is the neuropathy in my lower body, mostly in my feet. In other words my feet tingle all the time, like they are asleep but just waking up. I know, it's not easy to understand! Another way I explain it is it's like putting on an extra small pair of pantyhose.....that's what it would feel like! Really! so there you have it! my own personal technique Tuesday! thanks for stopping by!

June challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles
it's June! this year is flying by! Your challenge this month is to scrap about a husband and wife relationship and the love you see/experience because of it. The scrap twist is that you can only use cardstock, NO PATTERNED PAPER! The couple you choose can be you and your spouse, your parents, grandparents, or any other couple whose love for one another inspires you.
Here is my layout:
*Important: Make sure your link is to the blog post with your project & not just your blog in general...and be sure to remember the SCRAP TWIST!
Here is my layout:
The bible has so much to say about love and marriage. It starts at the beginning, in Genesis, when God creates Man and Woman:
Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of man." For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. Gn 2:22-24
These verses are revisited by Jesus in both Mark (10:6-9) and Matthew:
"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh' ? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate." Mt 19:4-6
And then, of course, there is the description of love:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
