my creative process....

as I was working yesterday on a layout, I had to stop and capture with my camera how the desk where I was "creating" seemed to have exploded! Here's what I mean:

this is truly a labor of love and what I like to call my "creative chaos", I mean "process!" What's funny too is that I have to clean up all of this in order to start another page! Crazy I know!

first Christmas LO!

we had another big snow last night! well...big for where we live anyway! I had so much fun with this Christmas layout I did for 1 - 2 - 3 - Get Scrappy! here is challenge #5:
I made banners with baker's twine and mini staples...the pp is from an older American Crafts Christmas collection "Hollyday" and I made the light bulbs myself. Here is what I came up with:

so this is my first Christmas layout of the season. I have a bunch more photos printed out for some more pages I hope to do this weekend! Thanks for stopping by and I love comments! Blessings my scrappy friends!

two for the day!

I'm on fire! LOL Here is another LO I was able to finish today inspired by yet another Sketch n Scrap sketch:

The fun thing about this LO for me was all the scraps from my stash that I was able to use! oh and making a banner! love those banners! so here is the page I came up with:

well, that might be it for today! blessings my scrappy friends!

a little bit of fall...

Fall is definitely my favorite season to scrap about! We had a nice, quiet Thanksgiving with family and friends so I was able to sneak away to scrap a bit. This LO was inspired by this sketch from Sketch n Scrap:

and from Colorful Creations to use bling! which I love to do! The page came together quite nicely if I do say so myself! LOL

Thanks for stopping by!

More circles!

I create many pages with lots of photos and this next one has 5 pics plus lots of circle goodness! I am our family's story teller with these pages and am loving it! All the paper is Recollections from Michael's and the letter stickers are Echo Park. I used my black Zig journaling pen to draw around the insides of the circles.

I'm loving how much I'm getting done these days and I just received more pictures yesterday to start planning more pages! There is a Friday night crop at the local scrapbook store that I am going to so I'm super excited to start getting some supplies together as well as imagining what I can get at the store while I'm cropping!! So there you have it. Hope everyone is having a great day! Blessings my scrappy friends!

for Sketchy Tuesday

I have finally finished a challenge for Colorful Creations! This LO is for Sketchy Tuesday:

here's the sketch:

that's 2 for today so I feel accomplished! yay!

I'm a football mom!

good morning all! I pray everyone had a good weekend! The weather here was definitely unusual...it got up to 80 degrees and windy! Now today it's only going to be around 50...crazy, I tell ya, crazy!!!
So this year was my son's first year at playing football! I was able to attend some of his games at the high school and got snap happy with my camera for this momentous time in his life - FOOTBALL!! He loved it! So here is my first LO of his football experience:
simple and to the point I'm thinking. One of the cool elements about this page for me was finding paper that looked like real football leather made by Reminisce!! The local scrapbook store where I go to crop once a month has it and I was thrilled to find it!
this was a fun LO to work on! thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

I love circles! (revised)

Back again with a LO of my guys at a spring baseball game! I originally tried to do this page for Colorful Creations "Sketchy Tuesday" last week but missed it. I really liked the sketch so I went ahead and finished it up last night. I love circles! I use my Silhouette, I hand sew them, draw them...I just love circles and elements such as! so this LO has circles and the guys saved their tickets for me to use as well!
now that I see the LO on here, the left upper corner seems a little off compared to the rest of the page. It is lacking (dare I say it?) another circle element!! I think I'm gonna go fix it right now and I'll be back with what I come up with. Anybody have any other suggestions? Please feel free to let me know!
Here's what I did:
aahhhhh! much better! thanks for the suggestions ladies! much appreciated! :)

back to scrapping!

while I'm still recovering from surgery and the hospital stay, I have been able to get back to scrapping a bit! yay! I love being able to get lots of photos on one LO especially for one event and this LO fits perfectly into that category:
I need to work on my cropping a bit better! or at least take a better picture! thanks for stopping by...I have more LOs to show later on.

happy birthday Mom!

wow! it sure has been awhile since I posted anything, hasn't it?! well I had surgery for the implant for my medicine and a short stay in the hospital so it's been recovery for me and I was just able to start scrapping again this past week. I've really missed it!
Today I have an older LO I did to honor my mom on her birthday...she passed away 10 years ago and I still miss her so.

fun day at Eckert's

here's another fun page about a day at Eckert's:

just a simple page I used a template on which I enjoy using to get multiple pictures on the page. The title is hand-stitched (yes...I did it again! I love the texture it adds to a page!) and the apple, pumpkin, and leaves are cardstock stickers. Liam loves petting and feeding the animals whenever he gets a chance. Last page I did of him was feeding the birds and his "selfies!" Love it!

upcoming crop at My Scraps & More!

selfies by son!

so my son was going to Eckert's with a group of friends and I asked if he wouldn't mind taking the smaller camera (so it wouldn't get lost!) and taking some pictures for me. Well, he did....120 of them to be exact! He likes taking "selfies" so I scrapped a page of them for him:

this is a really simple page: I started with the star page as the background, the title is stickers, and I hand-stitched the stars on a piece of aqua colored cardstock. That's it! Simple and easy! I really love his pics! Thanks for stopping by! Blessings and happy scrapping!

a gorgeous weekend!

this has been an awesome weekend! the weather could not have been better! It was pretty busy with the Affton Days parade and festival, working a booth at the festival and a birthday party! Friday night there was the varsity football game in which Liam got in on a few plays! It was truly a great weekend!
Tomorrow I meet with the neurosurgeon about the implant surgery for the pump I need to help me get back to walking so that's exciting and oh yeah, it's that time again for my monthly infusion of M.S. meds at the hospital. Yeah, fun! I did get a fun layout done though:

loved using the blues and the Martha Stewart "birds on a line" punch! I hand-stitched the title and really like how it turned out! thanks for stopping by and hope everyone had a blessed weekend!

new Boy Meets A Girl challenge blog

Here is a little something about the new blog by Brenshevia:
Hello everyone, welcome to Boy Meets Girl.  This blog is a combination of our About a Boy & About a Girl blogs.  I am having a lot of things on my personal plate right now so I am having to do some rearranging of my blogs.  So instead of doing away with them completely, I combined them into one.  I do hope that you will come back to play with us. We will post 2 challenges per month.  The AAB challenges will post on the 1st of each month and will run until the 15th of the month and the AAG challenges will post on the 15th of each month and run until the 30th of the month.  You are more than welcome to play along with both challenges.  Just remember AAB is boys photos only and AAG is girls only.  Again welcome to Boy Meets Girl.
Sounds great doesn't it?! I'm excited!

last Rooster page

I had a few more photos from the couple of times we've gone to Rooster for brunch and could not resist using the Graphic 45 pages and fussy cut out the rooster! So here it is:

this was fun!

Mosaic Monday (only on Tuesday this week!)

I have always wanted to learn how to do the Mosaic Moments and I took the class at CKC last year. The class made it look and sound so easy but when I got home and tried it I just couldn't get it! Well, I went to a two day crop at a bed and breakfast for scrapbookers with some wonderful ladies I met on Club CK and one of the ladies does the Mosaic Moments and was able to show me how to do it! It was awesome! Here are my pages I completed:
Here is page 1:

here is page 2:

and here are the two pages together:

I just love the way they turned out! I hand stitched on the second page and the titles are stickers. I'm so thankful that I was able to do this under D's watchful eye! I'm going to try and do one or two for every Monday! thanks for stopping by!

1st Stuck?! challenge

this is my first attempt at a challenge over on the Stuck?! site. Here's the link: http://stucksketches.blogspot.com.au/ and here's the sketch I got my inspiration from:

and here's what I came up with:

the title is "moth" you bother me?! which is a funny way of saying "must" you bother me. Yes, that is a real moth that landed on my son's nose! fun sketch! thanks for stopping by!

breakfast at Rooster!

a friend told us about a new place to eat breakfast/brunch in downtown St. Louis called Rooster. It is a great place for crepes - sweet and savory, coffee and mimosas. We have gone a few times now and really enjoy it! I love the atmosphere so I got my camera out and snapped a bunch of pics to scrap. I finished one layout and have started another. Here's the first one:

I love the paper I found by Graphic 45 with the French Country look displaying roosters. I fussy cut the sunflowers out and added them to the right and left corners on the bottom of the page. Now I'm off to finish the second page. Thanks for stopping by!

A sad day in sketch land!

as many of you may know I am truly a sketch kind of girl. I use them as jumping off points or stick pretty close to the sketch itself. Well, Sketches In Thyme is taking a break and it makes me sad as I love their sketches and feel I have made a some friends with whom I can hopefully keep in touch with. Thanks Sketches In Thyme for the wonderful experience I have had with your sketches as they provided much inspiration and motivation!

Busy day!

I worked on a layout today that I think I can use for two challenges.
1. About A BoyFor this challenge we would like you to create a layout using Black, White and ONE other color. They teamed up with About A Girl.
and
2. My Scraps & More: Mix It Up Monday
You must include on your layout:

S- stitching (faux or machine)
W- white cardstock
I- Inks (mists or paints are fine, too)
T- twine
C- circles
H- heart (more than one is fine)

Read more: http://myscrapsandmore.proboards.com/thread/7567/mix-monday-9-2-13#ixzz2dmKjmquJ

so here is my layout:

for About A Boy, I used black and white and one other color red.
for Mix It Up Monday at My Scraps & More, I used white cardstock, there is red stitching around the circle between the two hearts, I splattered black ink on the white cardstock, I cut the circles layout on my Cameo, I made the black and white flower out of baker's twine and I used three wood veneer hearts I colored red with my Copic marker. The journaling reads: "@ 15, you may have outgrown my lap but never my heart."
This was a fun day! Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed evening!

September Main Challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles

"To Everything There Is A Season" (Ecclesiastes 3)

Hi! Helen is here bringing you the Main Challenge this month.

In my home country, Indonesia, we only have 2 seasons: rainy and dry. Since I moved to Ohio back in 2008, I love seeing leaves changing their color every time the season changes. It amazes me that each leaf has its own way to change color in every season. And in our lives, we experience change all the time...and in every change that happens, God shows His mercy and miracles happen too!
My challenge for you this month is to create a layout about your favorite season of the year. Let your project show us God's miracles and His mighty work as you highlight this season.

The Scrap Twist that you need to include on your project is to use 3 or more leaves --- to remember how God changes the color of the leaves with the seasons.

Let's praise God, testify His glory and have fun as we create our layout. You can add some journaling to express your feeling also (optional).

The design team created some beautiful pages for this challenge so hop on over and check them out! http://scrappingeverydaymiracles.blogspot.com/ Here's mine:

It's Monday, it's September, let's have some fun this month! Thanks for stopping by! Be blessed my scrappy friends!

My Scraps & More #43

can you tell I love working with the sketches over at My Scraps & More?! Here's #43 we got to work with:

and here is what I created with it:

another layout signifying my son growing up! here is a close-up:

I also got this one done at the crop I went to last Friday night at the local scrapbook store. It was a hugely productive night! I still have two more to put some finishing touches on and then I'll be working on some design team work for SEM and for a guest spot coming up next month! Thanks for stopping by!

My Scraps & More #41

here is the sketch we had to work with:

I created this layout with tears in my eyes as I watch my son grow just a bit more every day. He is starting his sophomore year in high school and well, me being the scrapbook mom that I am, well, you can tell by the layout itself:

here are some close-ups:

I really enjoyed working with this sketch! I also really love how the layout turned out. I did these at A crop this last Friday night at the local scrapbook store. I have more to share so I'll be back soon!
