a gorgeous weekend!

this has been an awesome weekend! the weather could not have been better! It was pretty busy with the Affton Days parade and festival, working a booth at the festival and a birthday party! Friday night there was the varsity football game in which Liam got in on a few plays! It was truly a great weekend!
Tomorrow I meet with the neurosurgeon about the implant surgery for the pump I need to help me get back to walking so that's exciting and oh yeah, it's that time again for my monthly infusion of M.S. meds at the hospital. Yeah, fun! I did get a fun layout done though:

loved using the blues and the Martha Stewart "birds on a line" punch! I hand-stitched the title and really like how it turned out! thanks for stopping by and hope everyone had a blessed weekend!

new Boy Meets A Girl challenge blog

Here is a little something about the new blog by Brenshevia:
Hello everyone, welcome to Boy Meets Girl.  This blog is a combination of our About a Boy & About a Girl blogs.  I am having a lot of things on my personal plate right now so I am having to do some rearranging of my blogs.  So instead of doing away with them completely, I combined them into one.  I do hope that you will come back to play with us. We will post 2 challenges per month.  The AAB challenges will post on the 1st of each month and will run until the 15th of the month and the AAG challenges will post on the 15th of each month and run until the 30th of the month.  You are more than welcome to play along with both challenges.  Just remember AAB is boys photos only and AAG is girls only.  Again welcome to Boy Meets Girl.
Sounds great doesn't it?! I'm excited!

last Rooster page

I had a few more photos from the couple of times we've gone to Rooster for brunch and could not resist using the Graphic 45 pages and fussy cut out the rooster! So here it is:

this was fun!

Mosaic Monday (only on Tuesday this week!)

I have always wanted to learn how to do the Mosaic Moments and I took the class at CKC last year. The class made it look and sound so easy but when I got home and tried it I just couldn't get it! Well, I went to a two day crop at a bed and breakfast for scrapbookers with some wonderful ladies I met on Club CK and one of the ladies does the Mosaic Moments and was able to show me how to do it! It was awesome! Here are my pages I completed:
Here is page 1:

here is page 2:

and here are the two pages together:

I just love the way they turned out! I hand stitched on the second page and the titles are stickers. I'm so thankful that I was able to do this under D's watchful eye! I'm going to try and do one or two for every Monday! thanks for stopping by!

SEM September sketch challenge

Hello everyone, Lisa here with our September sketch challenge. You can create your project using any theme but be sure to include the twist: use some sort of string/fiber in your project. We are going with a multi-picture style this month so break out those photo stacks! ;-) Our layout sketch is from Scrapbooks etc.

Here is the card sketch:

We would love to see what projects you can create using our sketches and the twist! Link them up here by the end of the month to win the prize from this month's generous sponsor, Express The Moment (We will be updating with prize info as soon as we have it.)
**NOTE: You may submit the project you create for Scrapping Everyday Miracles to other challenge blogs but your project must be mainly created for the Scrapping Everyday Miracles challenge in order to win the sponsor prize and/or be one of Top 3**

breakfast at Rooster!

a friend told us about a new place to eat breakfast/brunch in downtown St. Louis called Rooster. It is a great place for crepes - sweet and savory, coffee and mimosas. We have gone a few times now and really enjoy it! I love the atmosphere so I got my camera out and snapped a bunch of pics to scrap. I finished one layout and have started another. Here's the first one:

I love the paper I found by Graphic 45 with the French Country look displaying roosters. I fussy cut the sunflowers out and added them to the right and left corners on the bottom of the page. Now I'm off to finish the second page. Thanks for stopping by!

A sad day in sketch land!

as many of you may know I am truly a sketch kind of girl. I use them as jumping off points or stick pretty close to the sketch itself. Well, Sketches In Thyme is taking a break and it makes me sad as I love their sketches and feel I have made a some friends with whom I can hopefully keep in touch with. Thanks Sketches In Thyme for the wonderful experience I have had with your sketches as they provided much inspiration and motivation!

Busy day!

I worked on a layout today that I think I can use for two challenges.
1. About A BoyFor this challenge we would like you to create a layout using Black, White and ONE other color. They teamed up with About A Girl.
and
2. My Scraps & More: Mix It Up Monday
You must include on your layout:

S- stitching (faux or machine)
W- white cardstock
I- Inks (mists or paints are fine, too)
T- twine
C- circles
H- heart (more than one is fine)

Read more: http://myscrapsandmore.proboards.com/thread/7567/mix-monday-9-2-13#ixzz2dmKjmquJ

so here is my layout:

for About A Boy, I used black and white and one other color red.
for Mix It Up Monday at My Scraps & More, I used white cardstock, there is red stitching around the circle between the two hearts, I splattered black ink on the white cardstock, I cut the circles layout on my Cameo, I made the black and white flower out of baker's twine and I used three wood veneer hearts I colored red with my Copic marker. The journaling reads: "@ 15, you may have outgrown my lap but never my heart."
This was a fun day! Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed evening!

September Main Challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles

"To Everything There Is A Season" (Ecclesiastes 3)

Hi! Helen is here bringing you the Main Challenge this month.

In my home country, Indonesia, we only have 2 seasons: rainy and dry. Since I moved to Ohio back in 2008, I love seeing leaves changing their color every time the season changes. It amazes me that each leaf has its own way to change color in every season. And in our lives, we experience change all the time...and in every change that happens, God shows His mercy and miracles happen too!
My challenge for you this month is to create a layout about your favorite season of the year. Let your project show us God's miracles and His mighty work as you highlight this season.

The Scrap Twist that you need to include on your project is to use 3 or more leaves --- to remember how God changes the color of the leaves with the seasons.

Let's praise God, testify His glory and have fun as we create our layout. You can add some journaling to express your feeling also (optional).

The design team created some beautiful pages for this challenge so hop on over and check them out! http://scrappingeverydaymiracles.blogspot.com/ Here's mine:

It's Monday, it's September, let's have some fun this month! Thanks for stopping by! Be blessed my scrappy friends!
