Sketches In Thyme # 96
while I didn't get all the pages done that I wanted to, I still feel good about what I did get done! This page was inspired by Sketches In Thyme # 96. It's plain and simple - just the way I like it! I cut the paper chevron pattern out on my Cameo while the other is stitched. I love that I was able to use a little bling on this predominantly masculine page for my son!

Sketches In Thyme # 95
finally back to scrapping after the wonderful holiday activities! God is so good! I have a good number of pages to create before 2013 rolls in and here's the first of many to come: I have always enjoyed the sketches over at Sketches In Thyme. What can I say?! I'm a sketch girl at heart! I haven't always been able to play along with the challenges but with Christmas festivities over and having the free time, I fell in love with sketch # 95!

sketch reveal at SEM
yay! it's here! there's a new sketch reveal over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles!
December Sketch Challenge
It's Sketch reveal day here at Scrapping Everyday Miracles, and we have another fabulous one for you to work with this month, byNerrida Mitchell.
** The scrap twist will be to use a punch on your layout.
Border punch, shape punch, you decide**
here's the layout I came up with:
the title is "in search of a cool Christmas tree". the last part is hard to read! I stitched the trees at the bottom, used the Martha Stewart stars punch at the top and the scalloped border is actually small circles punched one at a time! The Santa hat I cut on my Cameo and the sunglasses are a Quickutz die. This was fun! Now head on over to SEM to link up your take on this fun sketch!

Only 1 week 'til Christmas! Yay!

Dance!
I have been working on this layout for a bit now...you know...something here, something there. This page is from my son's 8th grade dance last May and him and his girlfriend helped me with it!
No patterned paper here at all! A bit unusual for me! There is miscellaneous bling and flowers and the word "dance" is Thickers from A.C.
I am working on another layout that I will post later 'cos I really wanted to do a page or so everyday this month. I missed yesterday so I will make up for it hopefully today! Blessings my friends! :)

SEM December main challenge
this is over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles:
December's Main Challenge-Joy to the World!
December Challenge #23 : Joy to the World!
Tracey here with December’s Challenge. God wants his children to have joy.The scriptures tell us this over and over. This month’s challenge theme is to scrap where you find joy in this holiday season.
The scrap twist is to include glimmer and/or sparkle on your layout.
Mists, glitter and stickles are some ideas. Make it sparkle for the season!
Psalm 32:11 Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous;
sing, all you who are upright in heart!
sing, all you who are upright in heart!
There are so many ways to experience God’s joy in this holiday season! I confess that I love everything Christmas! I find beauty in the carols, magic in the lights and peace in the falling snow. Every year my kids and I make cocoa and put on our jammies to drive around and admire the houses all lit up so beautifully! I am so thankful to my God for the blessings of family, friends and children. The highlight of my Christmas is the Christmas Eve service at my church. It’s a time to reflect on the birth of my savior and refocus on the reason for the season.
So what brings you joy? Is it special traditions? Decorating the tree? Baking cookies with the kids? Time spent with family and friends? We can’t wait to see!
Being the month of blessings and generosity..this month we have 2 benevolant sponsors! So, there will be a prize for this Main challenge and a different prize for the upcoming Sketch challenge !
This challenge is generously sponsored by:
One lucky winner, chosen by Random.org,

O Christmas Tree!
last night we went to Ted Drewe's to get our Christmas tree and wreath! I love walking through the aisles of freshly cut trees just waiting to be purchased and turned into Christmas trees! We looked at quite a few trees until we found one we all liked and then we went looking for the wreath for the front door. Of course when that was all said and done...we each just had to have a Ted Drewe's custard! What a fun time!

wow! waking up to...
this devotional from Our Daily Bread:
Our Prayer; God’s Will
— by Dave Branon
Read: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
I pleaded with the Lord three times that [a thorn in the flesh] might depart from me. —2 Corinthians 12:8
Bible in a Year:
2 Corinthians 10-13
2 Corinthians 10-13
The handwritten prayer request was heartbreaking in its seeming impossibility: “Please pray—I have multiple sclerosis, weak muscles, trouble swallowing, increased pain, diminishing sight.” The woman’s body was breaking down, and I could sense despair in her plea for intercession.
But then came the hope—the strength that trumps the physical damage and degradation: “I know our blessed Savior is in full control. His will is of utmost importance to me.”
This person may have needed my prayers, but I needed something she had: unabated confidence in God. She seemed to present a perfect portrait of the truth God taught Paul when he asked for relief from his difficulty—what he called his “thorn in the flesh” (2 Cor. 12:7). His quest for relief turned out to be not just a seeming impossibility; his request was turned down flat by his heavenly Father. Paul’s continual struggle, which was clearly God’s will, was a valuable lesson: Through his weakness, God’s grace could be displayed and God’s strength was “made perfect” (v.9).
As we pour out our hearts to God, let’s be even more concerned with seeking His will than we are with receiving the answer we want. That’s where the grace and the strength come from.
Dear heavenly Father, I bring to You my petitions,
but I give to You my heart. While I plead for You to
answer my prayers, I also submit to Your will so that
my heart may be strengthened and Your work be done.
but I give to You my heart. While I plead for You to
answer my prayers, I also submit to Your will so that
my heart may be strengthened and Your work be done.
We pray not to obtain our will in heaven,
but to effect God’s will on earth.
but to effect God’s will on earth.
so there you have it! This is how God is working in my life! I am so very blessed!

happy day b4 turkey day!
finally! the sun has come out so I could take pictures of a few pages I've been working on! this first one goes with the page I did for the Scrapping Everyday Miracles sketch challenge: Kalsie's 15th birthday. this page, too, is all October Afternoon's Cake Walk. I love the colors and patterns! this is the first time I have used this type of fringe and I like it!
the next page I have been working on is part of the Homecoming pics I took a while back. This LO is of the boys acting goofy and posing for pics all dressed up before the dance! I have been taking a class on how to maximize the use of my Silhouette Cameo. The frame with "the guys of 2016" I learned how to do in that class. the flourish is also cut on the Cameo.
now it's quiet the day before Thanksgiving. I plan on scrapping while Mike and Liam work on building the ramp for my wheelchair and I to escape the house! It's all very exciting!
Our plans for tomorrow are pretty quiet. We are invited to a friend's and then there's Mike's aunt and uncle with extended family to visit. All in all it's a blessing to be able to spend time with family and friends! Later!

November challenge @ SEM
the November challenge is up over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles! Here's Cara:
Cara here to bring you November's main challenge...with the holidays coming up, what comes to my mind is the blessing of my family. So I'm calling the Challenge this month FAMILY TIES...meaning I want you to create a project about your family.
Keep in mind that there are all kinds of families...they could include your smaller immediate family, your extended family (grandpas & grandmas, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc), your "adopted into" family, your church family, your family of friends, etc. Whatever kind of "family" God has blessed you with, journal about those special "ties" that bind you to each other.

The flowers are of the various type (from my stash) and the crocheted doily is escaping me as to where it is from! The buttons are MME and the paper clip bird is from Studio Calico.

SEM blog hop
welcome to the Scrapping Everyday Miracles blog hop! I am so excited to have been selected to join this amazing group of women on this design team! I am honored and humbled by the very great talent and God-fearing women this team consists of! Thanks ladies!
Make sure to hop to each members blog where there could be a chance to win random prizes and to be inspired and motivated by the awesomely amazing talent found there! here is the list to follow:
Kelly > you are here!
this is the LO I have created for this "new chapter" of my life.
6 years ago I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I had just run a half-marathon and was extremely active and independent. Today I use a wheelchair and can't drive! But you know what? I wouldn't change a thing! Yes, I don't like what has happened to me but I have met so many amazing people and learned so much about myself that to not embrace where God has brought me in this journey we call life would be so wrong!
This "new chapter" page is not meant to be negative in any way...and this is one of the first times I have done a page about me and my "new normal." Being able to "scrap" about myself and where I am on this journey has been very good for me! My style of scrapbooking is clean and simple...the pages here on my blog will show just that. I have tried new techniques and different mediums to keep up with the changing times but I always go back to the simplicity of grid patterns and an assortment of photos to tell a story.
I have an awesome husband and 14 year old son...greatly supportive friends and church family. I am so blessed! I praise God and give Him the glory for the work He has done and is still doing in my life. Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop! Next up is Nicole...
Blessings my friends!

rainy day page!
fun, productive day! I had the CD of our 2006 photos and could not believe I did not scrap these pics of Liam's first day of third grade! crazy I know! The sketch for September #1 over at Sketches In Thyme fit these pics pretty well I thought. So here is the page I worked on for it today:
I used my Silhouette for the bottom border (blue) and the stars are washi tape which I love! The number 3 paper clip I picked up last weekend is super awesome and I love using the star trinkets from Maya Road! The title "think!" is a Dr. Seuss quote and the rest is from my stash!
Hope everyone is having a blessed day!

a gorgeous day!
I love the sketch challenge going on over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles! The sketch is by Shimelle:
this was a fun page to create! the twist on this challenge was to use a mixed alpha title. I used the font "for the one hundredth time." I did all the circles myself and did not stray from the sketch...too much!
The weather is gorgeous and there's football on!! yay!!!

my first twinchies!!
I worked all day on the twinchies I signed up to swap over at Club CK! I had a blast creating the ghost twinchie myself and using my Silhouette to make the pumpkin twinchie!
all in all, it was a very productive day!
I'm surprised I got this much done after the past week or so. I have been in so much pain that I was worried I wouldn't know what it felt like to feel good...normal...anyway I'm feeling much better after my monthly infusion of M.S. medicine and having seen the pain management doctor who decided it would be good for me to get a huge needle stuck in my back so in the last two days I would feel better. And he was right! So far so good! My right leg is still stuck and won't straighten out at all so I have to be in the wheelchair until my doctor gets the okay from insurance to stick a few big needles into that leg! It's funny but I see a pattern developing here!
Because of this whole mess I missed the weekend crop with my friends from Club CK. I am so disappointed that I had to miss it! It would have been so good for me! So there you have it...now I'm working on some LOs for Scrapping Everyday Miracles and I'm really excited about them! Off to bed! Blessings!

run 2012
I did this next LO for C.S.I. case #36:
there is so much talent out there...I hesitated to submit my LO but I had fun and that's all that really matters, right? I pretty much was just following the guidelines for this case file and created what you see here. That's all for today...need to keep packing stuff up for the weekend! Blessings!
Silence!
I don't know about you guys but I can't seem to turn my brain off to stop the running thoughts and such! It drives me crazy! So today I am taking a "vow of silence" to quiet my thoughts and myself for that matter. I am getting ready for the crop this weekend with fellow peeps from Club CK so that is a quiet task and I'm actually enjoying it! I have a favorite CD in and it's nice to just listen and be still. When I hear or see the phrase "be still", I think of the verse Psalm 46:10 -
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
This is how I want to be. So today I am trying to be still and quiet my thoughts and hopefully my mind in the process! I am going to try and scrap as I get ready for the crop this weekend. I saw this LO in the inspiration gallery over at Club CK:
and I absolutely love it! I feel a scraplift coming on!!! This is by gluemeetspaper at Club CK. I am so inspired by it!!! Must go and scrap! Blessings my friends!

Happy Monday?!
here are 4 LOs I did at the 12 hour crop...need a few finishing touches but I'm working on it!
so I still have more I'm working on but I may save those until the crop this weekend at Memories on Marshall with my ClubCK friends! I am really excited to be able to go! but I'm still nervous because of being in the wheelchair. My legs are just awful! I have pain meds but my right leg still won't work and my left leg is working but not much better than the right! Please say a prayer or two for me this week that all may go well with the weekend and all. Blessings my scrappy and non-scrappy friends!:)

12 hours of...
scrapping and scrapping and more scrapping!! Just got home from another 12 hour crop at the local scrapbook store and once again it was a ton of fun! Got 6 LOs done with more to get ready for the crop next weekend at Memories on Marshall with my Club CK friends! I am really excited to see the girls again! Each of us are making a project for each other and my theme is Thanksgiving. This is gonna be fun!!! Well, I'm tired and need to get some sleep! Blessings!

happy Labor Day Monday!
here's a LO I did for C.S.I. #35:
I love the colors and was finally able to use my chipboard puzzle pieces! I have had these for ages and just never found the right use or inspiration for them! This is called "pieces of me" and the page has just that: bling, flowers, a banner, buttons...things I love to scrapbook with!
The journaling reads: God does more than hear our words, He hears our hearts! and God can heal a broken heart, but you have to give Him all the pieces.
No big plans for this holiday. Both of my guys are home and we have nothing planned so I'm just gonna scrap my little heart out! Hope everybody has a blessed day!

MRI results
oh wait! that's right...there will be none and no answer to why I can't walk. I couldn't get the M.R.I. done 'cos my right leg wouldn't straighten out and kept on having spasms! So here I am once again in pain and in a stupid wheelchair! Sorry...feeling just a little sorry for myself at the moment. Well, it's a new day and God's mercies are new every morning so I just gotta move on from this "speed bump" and keep on going. Here's another pic of the cross country kickoff and Liam:
yay! another...

by an equally amazing and talented scrapper friend! check out Tracey Sabella's blog: http://gracescraps.blogspot.com/2012/08/turning-50-donna-salazar-sketch.html
this is a truly gorgeous LO with very awesome techniques! I have gotten to know a little bit about Tracey through the Scrapping Everyday Miracles blog when there was a design team call...and yes! I made the design team!!!! I am so excited and blessed to be a part of such an amazing and talented group of women who share a strong love for the Lord! I "met" Tracey in the green room on Facebook of SEM during the DT call. She is such a sweet and loving person who clearly puts the talents God gave her to good use through scrapbooking! Check out her blog and you'll see what I mean!
Today M.oms I.n P.rayer is meeting at my house to get the new school year started and prayed over! We will hopefully have some new moms to help us pray over our children and school district. I am excited to see God at work in all our lives and the lives of our children!
Yesterday was the Cross Country Kickoff at Parkway Central High School in Maryland Heights. I wasn't able to go ('cos I can't drive yet :( ) but Mike was able to go and got a few pictures for me:
this is a truly gorgeous LO with very awesome techniques!

Liam did really well - he didn't finish first but he didn't finish last either. In the middle is not a bad place to start his first year of cross country! He's in the front in this picture.
I am going to try and scrap a little today. I have an M.R.I. of my lower spine tonight to see if there is a problem that isn't allowing me to straighten my right leg. Hopefully the results will show that it will be something that can be easily fixed.
Blessings my scrappy and non-scrappy friends! Have a great day!:)

You can do ATC's, tags, sewing, scrapbook layouts, felting, painting, sculpture, altered items, textiles, the list is endless! The only thing NOT allowed is a card!
There are no prizes, but we will feature Three Inspirational Projects from among the challenge entries after the challenge ends.
No vendor restrictions.
You may combine with any other challenges.
No limits to the number of entries for each challenge.
Sounds fun, huh?! The kick-off date is Sept. 2! Yay!
eagerly awaiting...
here's the sketch for the August sketch challenge over at Scrapping Everyday Miracles:
The twist is to have at least one star on the page. The star(s) are actually under the heart! fun, huh?! I used the new green Thickers I just got as scrappy mail! This is my go-to style - simple and clean! The picture quality is horrible but I need to wait 'til tomorrow for better lighting:
just Monday...
that's about it! I have been working on this next LO from last night 'til now! I tried working with gesso and found I really like it! I used the Crafter's Workshop 12 X 12 hexagons template and like the effect:
I also used some elements from the current case file at C.S.I. #34 since it is all about vacationing and this LO is from our bestest vacation ever to Florida in 2008. Here's another close-up:
The blue cardstock you see is from a frame I cut from my Silhouette - 12x12 chicken wire! This is for the color challenge over at Club CK - use blue, brown, and white. This is also for Scrapping Everyday Miracle's challenge #19- to document a favorite vacation and use a stencil or mask. For this last part I used the chicken wire as the mask and used Mister Huey's calico white spray mist. This LO is also for Issue challenge #6 - use hexagons. Also for Club CK. So here's the whole page:
Hope everyone had a great weekend and hopefully in the next few days I will have some good news to share with you! Thanks for stopping by! Blessings!
